3 Countries. 4 Cities. 8 days. : Flights with Feeling featuring Candace Quinn

Updated: May 29

Phuket was the third of four stops on a week long girl’s trip around Southeast Asia. Yes. You read that right. We traveled to three countries and four cities in just eight days. It was a tiring, but fun trip because we wanted to do as much as possible in such a short time. We spent a few days in Phuket and were able to do a lot.

Where to stay: We stayed at the Baan Laimai Beach Resort & Spa which is absolutely beautiful! There is an indoor waterfall and koi pond in the lobby, the rooms are wonderful, and breakfast is included depending on the booking. There is also a large outdoor pool that is a central part of the hotel. You can literally hop in from the lobby or if you have a first-floor room that faces it. Baan Laimai is right across the street from Patong Beach and within walking distance to the party area, Bangla Road.

Where to eat: I would recommend No. 6 Restaurant close to Bangla Road. It is fast, cheap, and great for late at night. They have a delicious pineapple fried rice served in a real pineapple that is worth a try.

What to do: Tour Phi Phi Islands We booked an all-day tour through My Island Tours for about $50. It included a shuttle pick up from our hotel to the pier, a speedboat ride to the Islands with five stops, snorkeling gear, and buffet lunch. The views of the Phi Phi Islands are unbelievable! Visit an Elephant Sanctuary After hearing so many horrible stories about the treatment of animals in different countries, we wanted to visit a place that took care of them instead. We went to the Phuket Elephant Sanctuary that rescues and rehabilitates elephants who once worked in trekking and other show industries.

We asked Candace to rate the city, so she gave it a total go for girls trips and baecations and a solid 4 for solos and family trips.
