A Taste: Ghana's Chale Wote Festival

Updated: May 29, 2020

The below picture describes why I want to go to Chale Wote in Accra Ghana... PERIODT! With the lively street festival coming up in a couple of weeks, I thought I'd bring together some recaps until I can go on my own and find me a fine Ghanian husband.

According to OMG Voice: "Chale Wote The Chale Wote Street Art Festival is an alternative platform that brings art, music, design, dance and performance out into the streets. The community-based festival takes place in James Town – one of Accra’s most historic communities and targets exchanges between Ghana-based and international artists creating and appreciating art together.

Over the last eight years, Chale Wote has transformed the city of Accra into the most active cultural hub in West Africa. The festival has inspired possibilities in public space design through community supported cultural production."
